Chandigarh, March 12 (NationPress) In a significant advancement in the fight against cross-border organized crime, the Punjab Police, collaborating with central agencies, has successfully apprehended fugitive Bhuvnesh Chopra, also known as Ashish. He was extradited from a Central Asian nation to confront serious allegations related to various heinous crimes, as disclosed by Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on Thursday.
Initiated under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the newly formed Overseas Fugitive Tracking and Extradition Cell (OFTEC), operating within the Internal Security division, has been instrumental in executing this operation.
DGP Yadav mentioned that to monitor and limit Chopra's international movements, a Red Notice and a Look-Out Circular (LoC) were issued.
