Reflecting on Bihar’s rich intellectual and spiritual legacy, he remarked that this sacred land is where Gautama Buddha reached enlightenment, where the ancient Nalanda University flourished as a center of global education, and where eminent thinkers like Chanakya emerged.
Radhakrishnan noted that the university's name honors Mahatma Gandhi, symbolizing a commitment to his ideals of social equity, rural development, and ethical leadership.
