New Delhi, March 29 (NationPress) The Vice President, C.P. Radhakrishnan, is set to spearhead discussions aimed at enhancing access to justice via technology-driven legal services during a National Consultation scheduled for Sunday.
This event, organized by the Department of Justice under the Ministry of Law and Justice, aims to foster a platform for discussions, policy dialogues, and engagement with stakeholders, as stated by an official.
The National Consultation 2026 is part of the Tele-Law initiative under the Designing Innovative Solutions for Holistic Access to Justice (DISHA) Scheme, a Central Sector Scheme managed by the Access to Justice Division.
Participating in the consultation will also be the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal, as part of the Department's continuous efforts.
During the event, the launch of the “Voice of Beneficiaries” Booklet for 2025–26 is anticipated, showcasing inspiring narratives of individuals whose lives have been transformed through Tele-Law services, highlighting the revolutionary potential of digital access to justice.
A detailed presentation will provide updates on the DISHA Scheme's progress throughout India, featuring live interactions with Tele-Law Panel Lawyers, Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs), and beneficiaries, illustrating the real-time experiences and grassroots effects of technology-enhanced legal aid.
A special segment will also celebrate the 150th anniversary of the National Song “Vande Mataram,” with performances by local artists to honor its historical and cultural significance.
The Consultation will see the release of a White Paper that compiles insights, recommendations, and best practices from experts, policymakers, and practitioners, emerging from a Technical Session held prior to the event.
The launch of an AI-powered chatbot named Nyaya Setu is also on the agenda. This innovative tool is designed to serve as a digital link between citizens and legal services. It aims to provide instant, user-friendly legal information and guidance, assisting users in understanding their legal rights, accessing Tele-Law services, and navigating dispute resolution processes.
Additionally, a series of legal awareness comic books, developed in collaboration with National Law University, Delhi, will be unveiled during the event.
Approximately 1,200 participants are expected at the event, including officials from the Supreme Court e-Committee, National Legal Services Authority, members of the Bar, Government Counsels, Tele-Law Panel Lawyers, and Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs), according to the statement.
