Jaipur, March 20 (NationPress) Rajasthan's Chief Minister, Bhajanlal Sharma, convened a significant meeting on Friday to evaluate the plans for expanding the Jaipur Metro. He instructed officials to incorporate all essential locations in the forthcoming phases while formulating a detailed action plan that considers population density.

Stressing the necessity of efficient public transport, the Chief Minister reaffirmed the state government's dedication to enhancing urban mobility in Jaipur through the metro network.

He urged officials to focus on improving connectivity in areas with high population density and to ensure the new corridors seamlessly integrate with existing metro lines.

Sharma highlighted the critical need for efficiency, stating, “The timely advancement of metro projects, along with keeping costs in check, is vital, particularly with future demands in mind.”

During the meeting, officials outlined proposed alignments for the metro's expansion, following the Budget 2025–26 announcement about drafting a Detailed Project Report (DPR) to extend the metro network to Jagatpura and Vaishali Nagar.

The Chief Minister directed the preparation of a comprehensive Master Plan for extending the metro to major areas such as Amer, Bagrana (Agra Road), Jagatpura, and ISBT Heerapura, considering the city's increasing population and urban future needs.

Additionally, he reviewed the proposed elevated road project from Aranya Bhawan to Jagatpura and instructed that the Jaipur Development Authority and Jaipur Metro officials collaborate closely to ensure the project's smooth execution.

Sharma also assessed the progress of ongoing metro initiatives, including Phase-2, Phase-1C (Badi Chaupar–Transport Nagar), and Phase-1D (Mansarovar–Ajmer Road Crossing). Officials provided a detailed presentation on various action plans and progress updates.
