Jaipur, Sep 11 (NationPress) In a significant operation, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of the Police Headquarters, in collaboration with the Pipalkhunt police station and the District Special Team (DST) of Pratapgarh, dismantled an unlawful MD drug production facility.
Authorities apprehended the notorious smuggler Jamshed, also known as Jammu Lala (33), a resident of Dewaldi, who had a bounty of Rs 25,000 on his head, right at the scene.
During the raid, law enforcement officials confiscated 17.4 kg of MD powder estimated to be worth around Rs 50 crore in the global market, along with more than 70 kg of chemicals and essential equipment for MD drug production.
The operation was executed under the guidance of ADG Crime Dinesh MN, with oversight from DIG Deepak Bhargava and Additional SPs Asha Ram Chaudhary and Siddhant Sharma, while on-ground leadership was provided by Pratapgarh SP B. Aditya.
AGTF members, including Head Constable Mahavir Singh and Constable Narendra Patidar, acted on intelligence regarding the accused. Following a period of surveillance, they confirmed that Jammu Lala was manufacturing MD drugs in a hut owned by Ishwar Meena in Tanda Bada, Sarhad Bori Mojal. Consequently, the Pipalkhunt police and DST executed the raid, leading to his arrest under the NDPS Act.
This marks yet another significant strike against the drug network.
On December 16, 2024, the AGTF and Arnod police conducted a raid in Dewaldi village, recovering 11.450 kg of liquid MDMA valued at Rs 40 crore, along with 14.770 kg of chemicals and various drug manufacturing tools. In that incident, suspects Yakub, Jamshed alias Jammu Lala, and Sahil managed to escape, resulting in a reward of Rs 25,000 for their capture.
Further investigations uncovered that Yakub Khan, another key suspect, had funneled drug profits into illicit assets.
He had acquired a hotel/lodge in Hussain Tekri, Javra (M.P.), under his wife’s name in 2024, valued at approximately Rs 1 crore. On August 28, 2025, the Pratapgarh police froze this asset under Section 68F(1) of the NDPS Act. Key personnel from AGTF, including Mahavir Singh and Narendra Patidar, alongside DST in-charge SI Ravindra Patidar and his team, played a vital role in this successful operation.
