Jaipur, Feb 18 (NationPress) The Rajasthan Police made a significant breakthrough on Tuesday by apprehending a smuggler and confiscating 149.54 grams of illicit MDMA valued at approximately Rs 30 lakh. In addition, they seized the vehicle involved in the smuggling operation.

The detained suspect, Azam Khan (45), son of Aziz, hails from the Thana Kharakuan area in Ujjain city, Madhya Pradesh, according to police reports.

SP Vineet Kumar Bansal revealed that police teams established a checkpoint on Chupna-Kotdi Road at Jambukheda Phanta on Monday night. During the operation, a vehicle from the Ameo TDI brand was observed making its way from Chupna Mowai Road.

“Upon noticing the police, the driver abruptly halted the vehicle and attempted to escape at high speed. Suspecting illegal activities, SHO Arun Khant and his team successfully intercepted the car. A thorough search of both the vehicle and the driver, Azam Khan, revealed 149.54 grams of MDMA concealed in a bag with him. Both the illegal MDMA and the vehicle linked to the smuggling attempt were seized, leading to Azam Khan's arrest,” stated Bansal.

A case has been filed at Kotdi Police Station, and an investigation is currently underway. The suspect is being interrogated regarding his connections to the purchase and distribution of illegal drugs. The confiscated MDMA is estimated to be worth around Rs 30 lakh.

This operation was carried out with the involvement of SHO Arun Khant, ASI Ganpat Lal, Head Constable Hari, and Constables Kalu Singh, Kanhaiya Lal, Prakash, and Ghanshyam from Kotdi Police Station.
