Rajasthan's Mines Department Exceeds Revenue Goals with Over Rs 8,888 Crore Collected by February

Jaipur, March 4 (NationPress) The Department of Mines and Geology has implemented a strategic approach for revenue collection aimed at generating over Rs 1,500 crore in March, marking the concluding month of the 2025-26 financial year.
During a review meeting at Khanij Bhawan (Mineral Building) on Wednesday, Principal Secretary T. Ravikant assessed the department's performance. Present were Joint Secretary Arvind Saraswat, Director of Mines M.P. Meena, and other senior officials.
Ravikant highlighted that, despite facing challenges, the department has achieved a remarkable revenue collection of Rs 8,888.80 crore up to February, reflecting a growth rate of 12 percent.
This amount is Rs 952 crore greater than the revenue accrued in the same timeframe last year.
Moreover, the revenue of Rs 1,060 crore collected in February alone signifies the highest monthly collection in the history of the Mines Department.
The Principal Secretary commended the departmental team for exceeding the February revenue target of Rs 1,000 crore.
He instructed officials to devise a detailed action plan to ensure prompt execution of budget announcements and to finalize preparations for the mineral blocks and plots auction scheduled for April.
Additionally, Ravikant urged officers to focus on collecting outstanding dues and to seek new revenue generation opportunities.
In support of these goals, Joint Secretary (Mines) Arvind Saraswat has mandated that all Mines Department offices remain operational, if necessary, even on holidays throughout March to meet revenue objectives.
Director of Mines Mahavir Prasad Meena reported that the regions of Ajmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Udaipur, Bhilwara, and Rajsamand have surpassed their respective February revenue targets by over 100 percent.
He expressed optimism that the March targets would also be successfully met.
During the meeting, officials were also tasked with ensuring timely responses to pending Assembly questions, accelerating the preparation of mineral plots and blocks, creating and submitting action plans for budget implementation, and ensuring the quick resolution of cases submitted via the Sampark Portal.
Senior officials present included Joint Secretary Arvind Saraswat, Additional Director (Headquarters) Mahesh Mathur, Additional Director Jai Gurubakhsani, OSD Shrikrishna Sharma, SG Sunil Kumar Verma, SME Jaipur N.S. Shaktawat, Pratap Meena, SME Bharatpur Sunil Sharma, ADG Gopalaram, S.N. Dodiya, Superintending Geologist Sanjay Saxena, and Harisingh Nathawat.
