Jaipur, Oct 28 (NationPress) The Principal Secretary of the Mines Department, T. Ravikant, announced that as of October 26th, the mining department has amassed Rs 4866.17 crore in revenue, which is Rs 115 crore more than the same timeframe in the previous financial year.
Looking ahead in the financial year, it is imperative that we proceed with a commitment to prevent revenue leaks, enhance revenue collection, and meet our revenue targets in the mining sector.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has been stressing the importance of positioning Rajasthan as a frontrunner in the mining sector, continually seeking to create new opportunities.
During a hybrid meeting at the Secretariat on Tuesday, Principal Secretary Mines T. Ravikant instructed departmental officials to bolster the monitoring and analysis systems.
Expressing concerns about inadequate revenue collections in regions where RCC and ERCC contracts are pending for various reasons, he urged for the departmental procedures to be optimized.
He pointed out that, apart from routine operations, officials should assess mineral production in mining leases, focusing on sustainable mining, compliance with mining plans, safety standards, and understanding fluctuations in production. It is essential to ensure that royalty payments align with production levels, and to take stringent measures against illegal mining.
Ravikant emphasized that Additional Directors and Superintending Engineers must routinely review operations at their level, providing necessary guidance and coordination to subordinate officers to achieve optimal outcomes.
He directed that efforts be accelerated, from delineation to the auctioning of minor mineral blocks. Mahavir Prasad Meena, Director of Mines, stated that the department has developed a strategy and begun its implementation to meet revenue goals.
Arvind Saraswat, Joint Secretary of Mines, highlighted the necessity to shorten the e-filing timeframes, respond to Assembly inquiries, and provide timely feedback on department-related news, including correspondence from the Chief Minister's Office.
