Jaipur, March 18 (NationPress) - T. Ravikant, the Principal Secretary of Mines and Petroleum in Rajasthan, announced on Tuesday that the State Mines Department has reached a remarkable revenue collection of Rs 8,350.75 crore as of March 15, reflecting a robust 22.58 percent growth rate.

This amount exceeds last year’s revenue of Rs 7,460.48 crore by Rs 890.27 crore, according to Ravikant.

He encouraged field officers to implement a proactive approach towards revenue collection as the financial year comes to a close.

Highlighting the importance of setting a new benchmark, he urged the department to investigate all potential avenues for recovering outstanding debts owed to the state.

During a virtual meeting held at Khanij Bhawan, Ravikant emphasized the need for daily monitoring of revenue collection, asserting that any laxity in achieving targets would be unacceptable.

He instructed officers to enforce strict measures for the recovery of both old and current dues, upfront payments, premium amounts, outstanding dues from illegal mining activities, Royalty Collection Contracts, Excess Royalty Collection Contracts, Amnesty Scheme recoveries, and royalty payments from leaseholders.

Ravikant noted that recovery efforts should be clearly visible in the department's progress, and officers must ensure the maximization of revenue realization before the end of the financial year.

Director of Mines, Deepak Tanwar, stated that recoveries should be pursued in instances where no court stay orders are in place.

He urged officials to identify pending cases and actively work towards recovering the targeted amount to achieve a new revenue record.

Joint Secretary of Mines, Ashu Chaudhary, directed that priority be given to answering Assembly queries, prompt action be taken on investigation cases, departmental promotion committee meetings be convened as necessary, and pending cases be addressed without delay.

Officials noted that Jaipur is leading in the SME category, while Bhilwara has achieved the highest revenue collection.

The meeting included the participation of Additional Directors M.P. Meena, Mahesh Mathur, P.R. Ameta, Y.S. Sehwal, and other officers.
