Noida, April 10 (NationPress) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday criticized Pakistan, asserting that a segment of its youth is misdirecting their energy towards terrorism.

While addressing the Convocation ceremony at Noida International University, the Defence Minister remarked, “When the youth of India harness their energy effectively, they innovate and contribute to global advancements. In contrast, certain youth in Pakistan are misusing this very energy to fuel terrorism.”

He emphasized that the youth represent an endless source of energy. “This energy is the bedrock of creation and progress, but when misallocated, it can lead to destruction,” he added.

Rajnath Singh highlighted the importance of India's cultural heritage in steering our youth towards positive outcomes.

He encouraged the youth to pursue their aspirations with commitment. “Your unique circumstances, challenges, and dreams shape your identity. Hence, identify your strengths and proceed with unwavering dedication,” he stated.

“Appreciate the world's beauty, chase your aspirations, and relish life, but always remain cognizant of your responsibilities. Striking this balance is essential for achieving genuine happiness and success,” he advised.

Furthermore, the Defence Minister praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for propelling the nation's economic growth.

In a post on X, he stated, “Under Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi, India has emerged as the third-largest startup ecosystem globally. Our semiconductor industry is rapidly advancing, and the country's bio-economy has expanded over 16 times in the last 11 years.”

In another context, Rajnath Singh expressed sorrow over the demise of Colonel Sonam Wangchuk (Retd), a Maha Vir Chakra awardee and a valiant hero of the 1999 Kargil War.

In a post on X, he paid tribute to Colonel Wangchuk, recognizing him as a distinguished officer of the Indian Army, celebrated for his bravery, steadfast leadership, and unwavering dedication to duty.

“A proud son of Ladakh, he embodied the spirit of the region—resilient, steadfast, and deeply committed to serving the nation, serving as a symbol of India’s unity in diversity,” he remarked.

“His courageous leadership during Operation Vijay inspired his troops under the most challenging high-altitude conditions. His life stands as a beacon of courage, sacrifice, and national unity, inspiring future generations,” concluded Rajnath Singh.

Point of View

It is crucial to recognize the dual narrative presented by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. While he rightly emphasizes the importance of youth engagement in constructive endeavors, the commentary on terrorism opens up broader discussions about socio-political issues. The contrast drawn serves to inspire India's youth, but it also calls for introspection on regional youth dynamics.
