Key Takeaways
Hyderabad, Dec 24 (NationPress) Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy declared on Wednesday that he will not permit KCR and his family to regain power.
The Chief Minister launched a fierce critique against former Chief Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) following remarks he made during a press conference on December 21.
While addressing a gathering of recently elected sarpanches in Kosgi, located in Narayanpet district, CM Revanth Reddy asserted that as long as he remains in politics, KCR will not ascend to power.
Challenging KCR, the Chief Minister proclaimed that if elections for 119 Assembly seats occur in 2029, he intends to secure 87 seats for the Congress party.
“Should elections take place for 153 constituencies (in case of delimitation), I will lead the Congress party to victory in the state with over 100 seats. KCR, KTR, and Harish Rao, take note. This is my challenge,” he emphasized.
The Chief Minister stated that the era of BRS and KCR has concluded. “Your party and you have no future. The Congress is the future of Telangana,” he remarked.
Revanth Reddy reiterated his invitation for KCR to attend the Assembly, indicating that the government is open to discussing any issues there.
“Join us in the Assembly. Let’s engage in a productive discussion. We can talk about Kaleshwaram. We can discuss Krishna and Godavari waters. Should we also address the issue of telephone tapping?” he inquired.
The Chief Minister also criticized BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao for his challenge.
“His own sister (Kavitha) claims he tapped her husband’s phone. KTR, who cannot respond to his own sister, dares to challenge me,” he commented.
CM Revanth Reddy pointed out that KCR has emerged after a long hiatus to speak about harming others. “It’s not about harming others; it’s about taking care of your own interests. Our Sarpanches will send you back to Chintamadaka (KCR’s native village),” he stated.
Revanth Reddy criticized KCR’s statements as nonsensical and baseless, asserting that the BRS leader failed to provide any useful insights for the public.
“It’s not that we lack the ability to speak. We are choosing not to because we hold respect,” the Chief Minister explained.
“We do not engage in vindictive politics. We are committed to our work, trusting that everyone will face the outcomes of their actions. However, if he provokes us, our party members will not stay silent,” he added.
Responding to KCR’s accusation that the Congress government is involved in real estate ventures, Revanth Reddy stated that he is not implicated in any passport scandals.
He accused KCR of harboring resentment towards Palamuru (Mahabubnagar) for a decade, hindering its progress.
