Patna, May 24 (NationPress) A local rice mill proprietor was tragically shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Pihuli village, located within the Asaw police jurisdiction, on Saturday. This shocking event has raised alarm and anxiety among the residents of the area.
As per Rajshekhar, the Station House Officer (SHO) at Asaw police station, the victim has been named as Dharmendra Singh, a well-known rice mill owner.
He was en route to a garden when the assailants opened fire and subsequently escaped. Dharmendra suffered three gunshot wounds.
“Local villagers quickly transported Dharmendra Singh to a nearby medical facility, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Our investigation is underway to locate the individuals responsible for this heinous act,” SHO Rajshekhar informed IANS.
The authorities mentioned that a formal complaint has yet to be filed, as the family of the victim is currently not in a position to do so.
Nevertheless, initial inquiries and local intelligence efforts have commenced to identify the perpetrators.
“We have retrieved the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem examination,” he added.
