Key Takeaways
Noida, March 20 (NationPress) - After a challenging start with two consecutive bogeys, Ridhima Dilawari showcased her resilience by carding her third consecutive round of 71, ultimately surpassing Jasmine Shekar in the sixth leg of the Women’s Pro Golf Tour held at the Jaypee Wishtown Golf Course in Noida on Friday. Competing on the Par-71 course, Ridhima began the final round three strokes behind Jasmine and fell five shots back after just two holes.
However, Ridhima mounted an impressive comeback, achieving two birdies without any bogeys over the remaining 16 holes. In contrast, Jasmine finished with a 4-over 75, concluding her round with a bogey. When the pair reached the 18th hole, they were tied at even par. Ridhima made par while Jasmine bogeyed, allowing Ridhima to secure her third victory in the last five events. She had previously triumphed in the second and fourth legs of the tour and continues to lead the Hero Order of Merit. Jasmine, who secured the first leg earlier this season, faced her second consecutive runner-up finish.
Among the six legs conducted thus far, Ridhima has captured three titles, while Jasmine and Tvesa Malik have each won once, and amateur Lavanya Gupta claimed the fifth leg.
Despite Ridhima’s strong performance following her rocky start, Jasmine experienced a tumultuous round. She began with a bogey and a birdie, then bogeyed the fifth hole and double bogeyed the sixth. A birdie on the ninth allowed her to turn with a score of 2-over 38. On the back nine, she bogeyed the 13th and needed to par the 18th to force a playoff but lost a shot, finishing second at 1-over 214.
Saanvi Somu recorded the second-best score of the day at 1-under 70, tying for third place at 2-over 215 alongside Amandeep Drall (71).
Neha Tripathi (73) secured fifth place, while Tvesa Malik (69) achieved the day’s best score, tying for sixth with amateurs Guntas Kaur Sandhu (71) and Alysha Dutt (73), who shared the amateur prize.
Another amateur, Mahreen Bhatia (73), finished ninth, with amateurs Anuradha Chaudhuri (75) and Anvitha Narender (75) rounding out the top ten.
A total of 53 players entered the competition, with 34 making the cut for an event boasting a purse of ₹17 lakh.
Currently, Ridhima leads the Order of Merit with ₹9,91,667, followed by Jasmine Shekar with ₹7,38,333, and Amandeep Drall in third with ₹5,84,000.
