New Delhi, July 12 (NationPress) Union Minister Harsh Malhotra spoke to the press at the National Media Centre during the Rozgar Mela event, underscoring the Modi government’s initiatives in reshaping employment generation in India.
He revealed that 210 individuals were issued appointment letters at the Delhi location, while nationwide, 51,000 youth received job letters at 47 different venues.
"Since the inception of Rozgar Melas in October 2022, over 10.26 lakh youth have secured appointment letters in the past four years. This is far more than a ceremonial event -- it represents the emergence of a new India," Malhotra stated.
He highlighted that recruitments are being conducted in 13 distinct Indian languages to promote inclusivity. In contrast to the pre-2014 period, he noted that past recruitment processes were marred by delays and corruption, heavily involving middlemen.
"Currently, under Prime Minister Modi’s direction, we have implemented a transparent, corruption-free process. No middlemen, no deceit," he emphasized.
Malhotra remarked that during PM Modi’s 11-year leadership, government recruitments have surged by 1.5 times compared to earlier administrations. He attributed this progress to initiatives such as the PM Gati Shakti Yojana and PM Mudra Yojana, which have empowered small businesses, increased employment, and revitalized the economy.
“Over Rs 52 crore in low-interest loans have been disbursed to small entrepreneurs, especially in the aftermath of COVID,” he mentioned. Discussing infrastructure growth, Malhotra stated that 60,000 km of national highways have been constructed in the last year alone -- a significant contrast to the 52,000 km built from 1947 to 2014.
“These initiatives have generated extensive employment opportunities,” he added. On a larger economic scale, Malhotra noted that India has now become the world’s fourth-largest economy, surpassing Japan.
“Previous governments claimed to eradicate poverty but instead displaced the poor. In the past 11 years, over 25 crore individuals have been lifted out of poverty under PM Modi’s administration,” he affirmed.
He concluded by asserting that the vision of a 'Viksit Bharat by 2047' relies significantly on the vigor and potential of India’s youth.
