Chennai, Nov 8 (NationPress) A.N.S. Prasad, spokesperson for the Tamil Nadu BJP, stated that the ongoing "Door-to-Door Outreach" initiative by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has been met with immense enthusiasm and positive feedback from the populace, marking a significant achievement in the organisation's centenary commemoration.
"Throughout Tamil Nadu, individuals are acknowledging the century-long commitment of the Sangh to selfless service, community harmony, and patriotism, despite years of political misrepresentation," Prasad noted, emphasizing that the campaign has garnered substantial public involvement in every district.
The 'Door-to-Door Outreach' effort, which kicked off on November 2, will persist until November 23 as part of the Sangh's nationwide centenary festivities.
Members and volunteers from over 40 Sangh Parivar affiliates, including the BJP, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad, and Hindu Munnani, are visiting homes to disseminate the organisation's legacy of nation-building, discipline, and humanitarian efforts.
Each household is receiving a centenary brochure that underscores the Sangh's pivotal contributions to society.
Aligning with the centenary year that commenced on Vijayadashami day (October 2), the campaign has witnessed spirited participation across Tamil Nadu.
On Sunday, BJP leaders and karyakartas in Chennai and other prominent cities are anticipated to spearhead large-scale outreach activities.
In October, RSS swayamsevaks conducted massive processions in various towns and cities throughout the State.
Over 100,000 individuals—half in uniform and half in casual attire—joined these marches, showcasing the Sangh's deep-rooted presence and public connection.
Recalling the RSS's role during significant periods in India's history—from relief efforts during the 1947 Partition to resistance during the Emergency, and its involvement in the Ram Janmabhoomi movement and the establishment of the Vivekananda Rock Memorial at Kanyakumari—leaders characterized the centenary year as a "renewal of commitment to national service".
Prasad accused the Tamil Nadu government of attempting to disrupt the peaceful RSS events by denying permissions and detaining volunteers.
"Despite these challenges, our campaign perseveres with the support of the people," he remarked.
The centenary celebrations will extend until Vijayadashami 2026, encompassing outreach initiatives, service projects, and cultural events, reaffirming the core principle of the RSS—'Nation First'.
