Key Takeaways
Raipur, Feb 5 (NationPress) In a moment of sheer excitement, Sakshi Pandey, a young visionary from Chhattisgarh, received a phone call from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday. Pandey was one of the 25 young delegates at the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD-2026).
Hailing from Bhilai in the Durg district of Chhattisgarh, Sakshi had the privilege of presenting her insights on creating a sustainable and environmentally friendly India during the event held in New Delhi.
According to a statement from the Chhattisgarh government, “This afternoon (Thursday) at 1:30 pm, Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally reached out to Sakshi Pandey, commending her innovative ideas. He expressed pleasure with various initiatives, particularly those focused on women’s empowerment.” The statement also noted that Sakshi’s success serves as an inspiration not only for Bhilai but for the youth throughout the state.
The initiative was executed via the ‘My Bharat’ platform, which engaged over 50 lakh youth nationwide through a series of quizzes, essays, and competitions.
From this vast pool, 3,000 participants were invited to New Delhi, with 25 young leaders presenting their proposals on ten pivotal topics to the Prime Minister.
These critical subjects encompassed the youth's role in democracy, women-led development, the startup ecosystem, Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India), sustainable and green progress, smart agriculture, cultural diplomacy, and preparing a future-ready workforce.
Sakshi expressed her feelings about the program, stating that speaking before such a distinguished leader was initially intimidating, yet this platform amplified her voice on a national scale.
Currently preparing for the UPSC and serving as a social worker, Sakshi noted that Prime Minister Modi attentively listened to each participant's ideas, provided feedback, and elaborated on initiatives like Mission LiFE.
“This platform enabled us to elevate our ideas from state to national significance. Prime Minister Modi not only listened earnestly but also offered invaluable suggestions, particularly regarding Mission LiFE, which further refined our concepts,” she remarked.
She also highlighted her motivation when she observed that youth-driven ideas from the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue were mirrored in the Union Budget.
“This budget genuinely showcases the strength of youth. India, being a youthful nation, is filled with innovative and eager young minds ready to contribute to nation-building,” Sakshi concluded.
