Mumbai, April 21 (NationPress) Actress Shruti Pandey, who is preparing for the launch of her film ‘Raid 2’, has shared insights into the hurdles she encountered during the initial phase of her career, including awkward conversations. While she stated that she has never directly faced the casting couch, she recognized the pressures that come with navigating the film industry and the significant role of social media in an actor's exposure and chances at success.

When questioned about experiences with nepotism or the casting couch, Shruti expressed her gratitude for not having had direct encounters with the casting couch. However, she did experience some uncomfortable discussions early in her career.

Pandey explained to IANS, “Thankfully, I’ve never directly experienced the casting couch. Maybe some uncomfortable conversations in the beginning, but nothing serious. Social media, on the other hand, has had a big impact—both good and bad. It’s become a business. As an actor, not having a strong social media presence can be a hurdle. Many roles are cast through Instagram now, and you don’t even hear about them if you’re not visible enough.”

The ‘Helmet’ actress also shared her viewpoint on nepotism in the film industry. In response to a question about her opinion, Shruti acknowledged that the entertainment sector is fundamentally a business. “It’s a business. If I had something valuable, I’d want to pass it on to my sister too. But getting the opportunity is one thing—making the most of it is what really matters.”

Shruti Pandey further discussed her personal struggles and moments of uncertainty throughout her journey. When asked if there were times she contemplated quitting, she shared, “Yes, I’ve had those moments. Sometimes you go months without work. But my family is very supportive and understands this journey. Every time I thought about quitting, a new project would come along—Mumbai has a way of pulling you back in.”

As for Shruti’s upcoming film, 'Raid 2' features Ajay Devgn in the lead role. The action movie, which also stars Riteish Deshmukh, is set to release in theaters on May 1.
