Giriraj Singh Labels Rahul Gandhi as the 'Last LoP Emperor' in Political Critique
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, March 10 (NationPress) Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Tuesday delivered a pointed critique of Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, asserting that he lacks foresight and likening him to the final Mughal emperor. Singh's comments came during a press interaction where he stated, “We once viewed Rahul Gandhi as a naive child… I genuinely hope the Congress thrives under his leadership. However, just like Bahadur Shah Zafar represented the end of the Mughal dynasty, Rahul Gandhi epitomizes the final LoP emperor from the 'fake' Gandhi lineage.”
Singh continued to criticize Gandhi for not meeting the expectations associated with his position as LoP in the Lok Sabha.
In a pointed remark about Gandhi's parliamentary role, Singh observed, “It's unprecedented to witness a LoP devoid of vision, merely acting as an urban Naxalite. As the LoP, you are meant to inform the House. We seek to engage in discussions and votes—so why do you evade responsibility?”
These remarks surface amidst a rising political clash between the ruling BJP and Congress regarding protests and disruptions in Parliament.
Earlier, Gandhi supported a demonstration by the Indian Youth Congress during an AI Impact Summit, referring to the protestors as “babbar sher.” The protest, led by IYC chief Uday Bhanu Chib, involved demonstrators removing their shirts outside the event until police intervened and detained several participants.
The BJP condemned the protest, accusing Congress and Rahul Gandhi of promoting actions that tarnish the nation’s image, labeling their behavior as “anti-India.”
In response, Gandhi alleged that the government is dodging a discussion in Parliament regarding the situation in West Asia.
Speaking to journalists outside the Parliament, he claimed that the government is concerned that such a debate would reveal how Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been “blackmailed” and is “compromised.”
Gandhi also charged the Prime Minister with evading parliamentary scrutiny, asserting, “The Prime Minister has fled from Parliament and will not be able to return to the House.”
He emphasized that all opposition parties are eager for a discussion about West Asia, citing worries over climbing fuel prices and possible economic repercussions.
“These are critical issues for the people, which we deem essential to discuss,” he stated after the House was adjourned for the day.
