Hardoi (Uttar Pradesh), Feb 17 (NationPress) A deeply troubling incident revealing the deterioration of family bonds has emerged in Hardoi district, Uttar Pradesh, where a son-in-law reportedly murdered his father-in-law using a hockey stick during a dispute. The elderly sister of the deceased also suffered injuries in this violent encounter.

The event occurred within the jurisdiction of the Pachdevra police station as the victim was traveling home after a visit to a temple.

According to local authorities, Ashok Babu, known as Pinne, a resident of Mohalla Vikas Nagar Ganj in the Allahganj area of Shahjahanpur district, had gone to the Hanuman Dham Ramtal Temple to offer prasad. He was returning on a motorcycle with his sister Alka when the incident took place.

As they approached the canal near Hathoda village, the accused, identified as Manmohan alias Mannu, a resident of Hathoda, allegedly confronted them. Police reports indicate that a longstanding dispute had existed between the father-in-law and son-in-law, creating an atmosphere of tension.

During the confrontation, Manmohan is alleged to have assaulted Ashok Babu with the hockey stick, striking him multiple times on the head and other areas of his body. This brutal attack left Ashok Babu critically injured. He was quickly transported to Lohia Hospital in Farrukhabad, where medical staff pronounced him dead.

Alka, the victim's sister, also incurred injuries in the fray. She received medical care, and her statement is currently being documented as part of the ongoing investigation.

Upon learning of the situation, Pachdevra police arrived at the scene to initiate an inquiry. A forensic team conducted a thorough examination of the crime scene. Authorities have filed a case based on a formal complaint from the victim's family.

Police Inspector Shahabad, Alok Raj Narayan, mentioned that teams have been assembled to apprehend the alleged murderer. “We are actively pursuing this case and are working to arrest the suspect,” he stated.

The suspect, Manmohan, is currently at large, with police efforts underway to locate and detain him. Officials indicated that further legal actions will follow once he is captured, and the motives behind this crime will be thoroughly investigated.

This horrific incident has left the community in shock, as the relationship between father-in-law and son-in-law is typically characterized by mutual respect and trust.

In a similarly disturbing case reported on February 5 in Mau district, Uttar Pradesh, a married woman and her lover were implicated in the murder of her father-in-law, who had been admonishing her regarding her illicit affair.

Authorities disclosed that the victim was allegedly lured out, and his throat was cut, with the act recorded on a mobile device. Four suspects, including the daughter-in-law and her lover, were arrested, and the murder weapon was recovered.
