Hyderabad, March 28 (NationPress) In a shocking act of honour killing, a father took the life of a young man who was romantically involved with his daughter in the village of Muppirithotha, located in Peddapalli district of Telangana.
Sai Kumar, who had halted his education, was in a relationship with a girl from the same village. Upon discovering their affair, the girl's father devised a plan to eliminate Kumar.
On the night of his birthday, while Kumar was celebrating with friends at the village outskirts, the girl's father, Muthyam Saraiah, arrived and brutally attacked him with an axe.
An eyewitness recounted to local media that the assailant struck Kumar without warning as he was cutting the birthday cake. Kumar attempted to flee but fell after running a short distance. The assailant followed up with another attack.
Kumar's friends, caught off guard by the sudden violence, tried to detain the attacker, but he managed to escape. Authorities are currently searching for the perpetrator.
Despite being rushed to a hospital in an autorickshaw by his friends, Kumar unfortunately succumbed to his injuries on the way. Following a complaint from Kumar's family, the police initiated an investigation.
Kumar had been in love with the girl, who belonged to a different caste, for the past two years. The girl's father opposed their relationship and had previously warned Kumar against pursuing it.
The victim's father, Parshuramulu, stated that they had alerted the police about the threats to Kumar's life. He claimed that the girl's father had been planning this murder for the last five months.
