Hyderabad, Jan 27 (NationPress) A young man was tragically murdered in a suspected honour killing incident in Telangana’s Suryapet district.

The remains of V. Krishna (32) were discovered on the bank of the Musi Canal on Monday. Authorities reported that unknown assailants ended his life by bludgeoning him with rocks. Krishna had entered into a love marriage with a woman from a different caste just six months prior. The police have since transported the body to a government medical facility in Suryapet for an autopsy.

Local residents stumbled upon the body near the canal bank along the road leading to Pillalamarri and alerted the police. It is believed that the victim was killed elsewhere and his body was later discarded at the canal.

Suryapet Deputy Superintendent of Police Ravi indicated that they are probing whether the motive behind the murder is related to his inter-caste marriage or if other factors were involved.

Krishna’s spouse Gayatri and their family were devastated by the news of his death. They have called for the police to swiftly capture the offenders and ensure they face severe consequences.

The 17-year-old intermediate student hanged herself on the school grounds. Police have registered a case and are conducting further investigations.
