Mumbai, May 21 (NationPress) The former Union Minister and NCP MP Supriya Sule expressed her disagreement with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, who referred to India's military engagement with Pakistan as a small war (Chhutput Yudh). Sule emphasized that in the battle against terrorism, no war can be classified as small or large. As she leads a delegation abroad as part of India's Operation Sindoor global outreach, she stated, “A war is a war whether big or small. This conflict is against terrorism. During our all-party meeting, we collectively agreed to refrain from politicizing this matter or criticizing one another during this sensitive time.
“Now is not the moment for mutual criticism; we are all Indians united. The struggle against terrorism is not a personal or political battle but a unified effort for our nation’s integrity.
Sule expressed her pride in being Indian and commended the Armed Forces' Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives on April 22.
“I would rate Operation Sindoor not just 100 out of 100, but 1,000 out of 100. Our armed forces deserve the utmost commendation,” she remarked.
She also noted: “There’s a consensus among all parties that we must not send any messages that could misinterpret the intentions of the Indian Army. We stand united with India. No politics should arise from this issue, and it will not. Given the sensitivity of military matters, opposition parties must exhibit restraint and accountability. We limit our criticisms of the government because our ultimate aim is the welfare of the nation and its people.”
In the early hours of May 7, the Indian Armed Forces targeted terror launchpads in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
The Defence Ministry stated that they struck at terrorist infrastructures in Pakistan and occupied Jammu and Kashmir, from where terror attacks against India had been orchestrated.
A total of nine sites were attacked.
“Our actions were focused, measured, and non-escalatory. No Pakistani military facilities were targeted. India has shown remarkable restraint in choosing targets and execution methods,” the statement concluded.
