Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Chennai, Jan 13 (NationPress) Renowned Tamil filmmaker Gnanavel Raja, whose upcoming movie 'Vaa Vaathiyaar' is set to premiere on January 14 after overcoming numerous financial obstacles, recently revealed that actor Suriya quietly inquired about his challenges and offered support.
During the pre-release event for the film held on Tuesday, Gnanavel Raja expressed, "Some of our films have not performed well and a wave of negativity has circulated. Many claimed that Gnanavel Raja had lost his touch. But we are still here. Cinema is a profession where we spread joy. Yet, this industry can harbor toxicity and negativity."
He proceeded to express gratitude towards five individuals who have supported him, with actor Suriya being the first mentioned.
"People often take the stage, refer to me as their younger or elder brother, and shed tears. Yet, they often abandon me when I need help. Without any pretense, Suriya supported me. He quietly asked about my issues and stood by me. I wonder if another hero would show such care for another person’s well-being. I wish to sincerely thank Suriya anna for his encouragement during my tough times, providing all the assistance I needed," Gnanavel Raja shared.
It’s noteworthy that the prominent production company Studio Green, responsible for the film, had recently confirmed the release date. They stated, "Our film Vaa Vaathiyaar was initially set to release in December. However, due to unavoidable circumstances, we could not release it as planned. We are thrilled to announce that Vaa Vaathiyaar will premiere globally on January 14, coinciding with the Pongal festival, which symbolizes unity, joy, and celebration."
The filmmakers also extended their best wishes to all films releasing alongside 'Vaa Vaathiyaar', hoping every story finds its audience and that the industry continues to flourish as we aim to entertain.
The censor board has already granted a U/A certificate for this commercial entertainer.
