Hyderabad, March 19 (NationPress) The Congress government in Telangana has designated Rs 56,084 crore in the 2025-26 budget aimed at fulfilling various commitments under the six guarantees.
Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has outlined the allocations for the programs that have already been initiated by the government.
For the Rythu Bharosa scheme, which increases annual financial aid to farmers to Rs 10,000 per acre, an allocation of Rs 18,000 crore has been set aside.
The Cheyutha social security pension initiative received Rs 14,861 crore. Additionally, the Finance Minister allocated Rs 12,571 crore for Indiramma Houses, Rs 4,305 crore for the Mahalaxmi initiative providing free travel for women on RTC buses, and Rs 2,080 crore for Gruha Jyothi, which offers free electricity up to 200 units.
Vikramarka also earmarked Rs 1,600 crore for bonuses to farmers cultivating fine variety rice. For the Rajiv Arogya Sri health scheme, an allocation of Rs 1,143 crore has been made.
The budget includes Rs 723 crore for the LPG cylinder subsidy program at Rs 500 and Rs 600 crore for the Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa scheme, which provides Rs 12,000 annually to landless laborers.
Moreover, Rs 48,245 crore has been allocated for other significant programs. A specific allocation of Rs 6,000 crore was made for Rajiv Yuva Vikasam, launched recently to offer financial aid to SC, ST, BC, and minority youth for self-employment initiatives.
The budget also includes Rs 11,500 crore for farmer power subsidies, Rs 4,452 crore for scholarships and stipends, Rs 3,683 crore for Kalyana Lakshmi/Shaadi Mubarak, Rs 3,000 crore for rice subsidies, and Rs 2,900 crore for integrated residential schools under Young India.
Vikramarka presented a comprehensive budget of Rs 3.04 lakh crore for 2025-26.
In his presentation of the second full-fledged budget by the Congress government in the Assembly, he estimated the revenue and capital expenditure at Rs 2.26 lakh crore and capital expenditure at Rs 36,504 crore, respectively.
The opposition parties, BRS and BJP, have criticized the government for failing to make necessary allocations to meet its election commitments, such as Rs 2,500 monthly for women, Rs 4,000 pensions for senior citizens, and a tola of gold for every poor girl at her marriage.
