Hyderabad, March 16 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy, urged the legislators from the Congress party on Monday to concentrate on the government's accomplishments and future strategies during discussions in both the Assembly and the Council.
In his address to the Congress Legislature Party (CLP), he remarked that there is no need to dwell on the failures of the previous administration.
“Now is the perfect opportunity to highlight our plans for the future and how we intend to meet the aspirations of the people,” a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office relayed.
The CLP meeting was convened to formulate the party’s approach for the ongoing budget session, which began with an address from Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla to the joint assembly of both Houses.
The Chief Minister requested all Congress MLAs and MLCs, particularly the women legislators, to actively engage in the budget session of the Assembly and Legislative Council.
He stressed the importance of effective coordination between the government Whips and MLAs during the discussions in the House.
Revanth Reddy stated that the 'People's Government' will be unveiling its third budget during this session.
He informed the legislators that the Governor's address laid out the government's priorities and future initiatives, acting as a guide for the administration.
He emphasized that every member must articulate and respond strictly in line with the party and government’s stance. "The roadmap we create now will define our agenda for the upcoming elections," he asserted.
The Government Whips were instructed to maintain coordination in the House when selecting discussion topics and issues. "We must ensure that the House functions smoothly without allowing discussions to diverge or wasting House time," he added.
All MLAs are expected to attend the session promptly, with women legislators encouraged not only to ensure their presence but also to engage actively in the discussions, the CM stated.
"The actions of a few individuals can jeopardize the entire system. Our political survival hinges on maintaining the integrity of the system," he noted.
The Chief Minister remarked that the previous BRS administration did not permit the opposition to address significant matters. Former CLP leaders Bhatti Vikramarka and Jana Reddy were also not given the chance to express their views.
Revanth Reddy recalled his own experience of being suspended for an entire session and barred from entering the House throughout his tenure as an MLA.
He reassured the legislators that all Assembly committees would be formed soon. The CM also suggested that MLAs and MLCs visit other states to learn about best-practice policies.
Furthermore, he urged the MLAs to pay closer attention to the drinking water situation as summer approaches. They were encouraged to bring the government’s initiatives directly to the people during the 99-Day "Praja Palana - Pragati Pranalika" program.
