Hyderabad, Nov 2 (NationPress) In a deeply disturbing event, a resident from the Vikarabad district in Telangana brutally murdered three of his family members, including his wife and daughter, before taking his own life, according to police reports on Sunday.
The tragic incident took place in Kulkacherla village during the night between Saturday and Sunday.
Authorities revealed that Vepuri Yadaiah, aged 38, used an axe to kill his wife Aluvelu, 32, his daughter Aparna, 13, and his sister-in-law Hanumamma, 40, while they were asleep.
His elder daughter, Apoorva, 16, narrowly escaped the attack and suffered injuries to her head and hand.
Following the murders, Yadaiah hanged himself in the home.
Locals alerted the police, who arrived at the scene and transferred the bodies to the mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
Initial investigations suggest that a family dispute triggered this horrific act of violence and subsequent suicide.
According to police, Yadaiah and his wife had experienced marital issues in the preceding week, leading to frequent arguments. Family and village elders had attempted to mediate and resolve the conflict.
Apoorva, currently receiving medical treatment, reported that her father argued with her mother on Saturday evening. Various family members and village elders confronted Yadaiah, urging him to change his behavior.
Yadaiah's sister-in-law visited the house intending to take her sister and children away the next day. Upset by the confrontation from family members and local authorities, Yadaiah chose to skip dinner.
Once the family was asleep, Yadaiah mounted a surprise attack with an axe. Apoorva recounted that he first struck their aunt, and when their mother attempted to intervene, he attacked her as well.
After murdering both their aunt and mother, he then confronted his daughters, questioning how they would survive. Apoorva explained that he assaulted them with the same axe. While Aparna died immediately, Apoorva managed to flee despite sustaining injuries.
A case has been registered at the Kulkacherla Police Station, and authorities are continuing their investigation.
