Neemuch, April 18 (NationPress) In a nation teeming with traditional craftsmanship, the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana is emerging as a revolutionary program for artisans and craftsmen, especially in rural regions like Madhya Pradesh's Neemuch.

Inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Vishwakarma Jayanti in September 2023, this initiative seeks to economically uplift individuals engaged in 18 traditional trades by providing financial assistance, training, and acknowledgment.

Aimed at integrating traditional artisans and craftsmen into the development framework, the scheme offers job and self-employment avenues through organized training and accessible loans. Supported trades include carpentry, blacksmithing, goldsmithing, pottery, tailoring, barbering, shoemaking, sculpting, and toy making.

A notable beneficiary is Vishnu Sen, a salon owner from Bamora village in Neemuch. Facing challenges in expanding his enterprise, he took part in the PM Vishwakarma Yojana. He received Rs 4,000 during his training and subsequently obtained a Rs 50,000 loan, which he utilized to enhance his salon.

Vishnu shared: "I enrolled in the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana and received training, along with Rs 4,000 during the training phase. I also secured a Rs 50,000 loan, which I invested in my salon. My business has seen significant improvement, and my quality of life has drastically improved. Many others like me have benefited from this initiative."

He conveyed his appreciation to the government and Prime Minister Modi for launching a program that not only fosters self-reliance but also motivates the incorporation of modern tools and technology into traditional professions.

The initiative is being rolled out throughout Madhya Pradesh, including Burhanpur and Neemuch districts, where it is generating employment, boosting productivity, and enhancing the living standards of artisans. By merging skill development with financial inclusion, the Vishwakarma Yojana directly supports the government's vision for a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047.

With thousands already reaping benefits across the nation, this initiative is being recognized as a game-changer, especially for marginalized communities.
