Damoh, April 1 (NationPress) The Bundelkhand region in Madhya Pradesh possesses significant potential for business and employment prospects, yet migration remains a major hurdle.
To tackle this challenge and foster self-reliance among the local populace, the central government has introduced various welfare initiatives.
The Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana is one of these programs aimed at assisting a substantial number of individuals. This scheme's goal is to empower traditional artisans and craftsmen by providing them with financial support and helping them achieve self-sufficiency.
This initiative encourages those engaged in traditional professions such as carpentry, blacksmithing, sculpture, weaving, pottery, masonry, footwear crafting, barbering, and basket weaving. The program not only promotes their economic empowerment but also bestows recognition upon their skills, ensuring long-term stability.
An inspiring case has emerged from the Tendukheda Municipal Council area in the Damoh district. Prakash Vishwakarma, a resident of Ward No. 11, recounted his journey with IANS, explaining how he accessed the benefits of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme through an online cafe. He first participated in a six-day training program and subsequently launched his own blacksmith shop.
Prakash expressed his satisfaction, stating: “Previously, we had to travel extensively in search of jobs, but since joining the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, I now own my shop and have achieved self-reliance.”
Through this scheme, he received training, financial assistance, and essential tools, significantly easing his professional journey. Now, by managing his own business, he has overcome financial challenges and can provide a better life for his family.
Similarly, Bhailal Basor, a resident of Bamhori village in Damoh, has also reaped the benefits of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. He informed IANS that he applied online, and after being selected, he participated in a six-day training session. Upon completion, he received a certificate from the Tendukheda Post Office.
Bhailal Basor shared, “Previously, we received no assistance, but this scheme has transformed our lives. Now, we can elevate our work and even create job opportunities for others.”
The main aim of the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana is not only to offer financial assistance but also to connect artisans and craftsmen with training, tools, and advanced techniques. This enables them to enhance their skills significantly.
Under this scheme, participants undergo a six-day training program, after which they receive a certificate and financial support.
