How is the PM Vishwakarma Yojana Changing Lives in Damoh?

Damoh (Madhya Pradesh), April 27 (NationPress) The transformative PM Vishwakarma Yojana, initiated by the Central Government, is emerging as a significant support system for the underprivileged in Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh. This initiative is not only fostering self-reliance among individuals but also making their aspirations achievable.

The program offers training, financial support, and loan options, enabling numerous families to transition from low-paying jobs to entrepreneurship.

Individuals in Damoh can conveniently apply through the 'MP Online Cafe' for the PM Vishwakarma Yojana. Once their application is accepted, beneficiaries undergo six days of complimentary training at various centers, where they acquire skills in sewing, embroidery, knitting, craftsmanship, toy production, light fittings, and furniture crafting.

Upon successfully completing the training, each beneficiary receives a payment of Rs 3,000 at a rate of Rs 500 per day, along with a travel allowance of Rs 1,000, which is directly credited to their bank accounts. Additionally, they receive a certificate that aids in securing employment and loans.

One of the beneficiaries, Neeraj Vishwakarma, shared, "I applied for the PM Vishwakarma Yojana feeling despondent. The moment I saw my name on the list, my spirits lifted. During the six-day training, I mastered the craft of furniture making and received a certificate, along with Rs 3,000 and Rs 1,000 for travel. I now hope to secure a job based on this certificate."

“Labourers often struggle due to a lack of education and experience certificates, but this scheme is providing them with a fresh perspective. It also offers loans up to Rs 3 lakh and equipment worth Rs 15,000," he told IANS.

The inspiring journey of Sanjay Vishwakarma from Hata tehsil is another testament to the program's impact. He expressed, "The PM Vishwakarma Yojana has allowed me to transition from being a labourer to a business owner. After six days of training, I earned a certificate enabling me to access a loan up to Rs 3 lakh. I once toiled as a labourer, but I'm now aspiring to launch my own shop. I am deeply grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This initiative offers not just financial support but also instills confidence."

A female beneficiary, Dashoda Lodhi from Simri, also commended the scheme, stating, "After completing the six-day training, I received Rs 3,000 and Rs 1,000 for travel. This training has paved my way to becoming self-sufficient. This program empowers women to stand independently."

It is noteworthy that hundreds are reaping the benefits of the PM Vishwakarma Yojana in Damoh. This initiative is not only advancing skill development but is also promoting small industries and businesses.

The district administration is conducting awareness campaigns to involve more individuals in this scheme. This government initiative has provided a new direction for the economically disadvantaged and working-class population of Damoh.
