Sunil Vishwakarma, who completed a week-long bicycle repair course at the Tendukheda Center, expressed how this initiative has sharpened his abilities.
A resident of Tendukheda Nagar Parishad in Damoh, Sunil initially enrolled in the program for six days. Now, he's planning to secure a bank loan to grow his business.
“During my training, I learned that a bank could offer a collateral-free loan of up to Rs 3 lakhs. The first installment could be Rs 1 lakh, with the second installment remitted after 18 months. I received Rs 3 lakh along with Rs 1,000 as rent from the training,” he stated.
Sundar Lal, from Bandipura Gram Panchayat in the Tendukheda block, benefited from skills training under the same scheme.
“I filled out the PM Vishwakarma Yojana application online after learning about it from fellow villagers. A few days later, I found my name on the list, and I was contacted by the center's staff. During the six-day training, I acquired welding skills. Previously, I had experience working at other shops,” he added.
He continued: “I want to express my gratitude to PM Modi for launching such a beneficial initiative for the underprivileged. Currently, I work at a welding shop earning between Rs 250 and Rs 300, but I aspire to open my own shop soon.”
