Trinamool MLA Critiques Party Leadership Following Showcause Notice Response

Kolkata, Nov 30 (NationPress) Just a day after submitting his response to the showcause notice from his party leadership due to accusations of making anti-party statements publicly, 'rebel' Trinamool Congress legislator from the Bharatpur constituency in the Murshidabad district of West Bengal, Humayun Kabir, has once again taken aim at a faction of his own party leadership.

This past Saturday, his criticisms were directed at the Trinamool Congress' district president, Apurba Sarkar, and chairman, Rabiul Alam Chowdhury, from Murshidabad.

"Sarkar and Chowdhury are abusing the authority given to them by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. I will rectify their actions with the support of our grassroots workers. I will not permit anyone to disrupt the organizational framework in the district," Kabir stated to reporters.

In response, Sarkar remarked that neither he nor anyone else in the party takes Kabir’s comments seriously.

"I will refrain from commenting. The leadership will address what needs addressing. Some individuals have a tendency to seek relevance by making controversial statements to the media," Sarkar added.

On Friday, Kabir submitted his response to the showcause notice that was issued to him by the party's disciplinary committee earlier that week for allegedly making anti-party remarks.

On Thursday, he faced a rebuke from the party leader and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee within the Assembly, where she instructed Kabir to respond to the showcause notice before making any statements.

He received the showcause notice on November 27, with a three-day window to respond.

On November 25, a meeting of the Trinamool Congress' national working committee was held, during which specific leaders were designated to make statements to the media on certain topics.

During this gathering, it was also resolved that any leader who contravenes the party's directives would receive a showcause notice, and failure to respond to three consecutive notices would result in suspension.

However, just 24 hours later, Kabir made a sensational statement to the media, suggesting that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was being surrounded by certain leaders whose true intentions are questionable.
