Agartala, Jan 9 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, emphasized on Friday that authentic education is vital for individuals to carve out their own identities within society. He reaffirmed the state government's dedication to cultivating exceptional students in every educational institution throughout Tripura by continuously enhancing the education system.
During the groundbreaking ceremony for a new high school building in Bhattapukur, located in West Tripura, the Chief Minister reflected on the school's legacy. The Bapuji Vidyamandir commenced its operations in January 1953, following the generous land donation by Nabin Chandra Chakraborty.
The Chief Minister recognized the significant roles played by various individuals, including Bhupesh Chakraborty, Surindra Das, Indra Kumar Das, and Kartik Chakraborty, in establishing this institution.
Speaking about the cultural importance of 'bhoomi pujan', a sacred Hindu rite performed at the start of construction, he noted that such ceremonies are deeply tied to the respect for the motherland.
"Everything is born from the embrace of the mother. With this conviction, we laid the foundation stone of the school building in homage to the mother," he remarked.
Emphasizing the need for collective action to shape a new Tripura, the Chief Minister highlighted the significance of lifelong learning.
"Education is a lifelong journey; learning must persist throughout one's life. Educators should also remain current with evolving times. We aspire for remarkable students to emerge from every school in Tripura," he stated.
He further mentioned that education transcends mere textbooks and is essential in molding minds and character.
"Through genuine education, transitioning from ignorance to knowledge allows individuals to establish their place in society. Education fosters confidence, values, and the capacity to tackle challenges in social environments," CM Saha asserted.
Referencing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, he added that foundational education encompasses more than academics; it is about instilling values, promoting growth, and aiding in nation-building.
The event was graced by various dignitaries, including Dipak Majumdar, the Mayor and MLA of Agartala Municipal Corporation, Abhijit Mallick, the Corporator, N.C. Sharma, the Education Director, Tapas Bhattacharya, the Chairman of the School Management Committee, along with notable social activists Asim Bhattacharya, Shyamal Kumar Deb, and Sajal Chakraborty.
