Ahmedabad, Nov 15 (NationPress) A six-member team from the Tripura Assembly's Petition Committee traveled to the Gujarat Assembly for a five-day exploration, acquiring valuable insights into the legislative framework, technological innovations, and citizen-focused initiatives.
The team, headed by Committee Chairperson Abhishek Debroy, comprised members Shambulal Chakma, Antra Sarkar Deb, Nandita Debbarma, Birajit Sinha, and Ashoke Chandra Mitra.
Upon their arrival, they were graciously received by Gujarat Assembly officials, including Joint Secretary Rita Mehta and Deputy Secretary Dinesh Chaudhary, who provided them with an extensive overview of the Assembly's operational best practices.
The Tripura delegation was familiarized with several prominent governance initiatives that have been successfully executed in Gujarat, such as the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), the Nal Se Jal programme, and the PM Surya Ghar rooftop solar initiative, highlighting Gujarat's successes under these Centre-sponsored schemes.
They were also briefed on the state's flagship grievance redressal platform, the "Mukhya Mantri Jan-Fariyad Nivaran: Rajya Swagat Programme", launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat.
Members of the delegation expressed their admiration for the model and how it has been implemented.
Furthermore, the delegation visited the Assembly's NeVA (National e-Vidhan Application) Service Centre, where they learned about Gujarat's transition towards paperless legislative operations.
During their time in the main House, they observed the seating arrangements designated for Ministers, MLAs, the press gallery, VVIP sections, officers' gallery, and the public viewing gallery, which allows citizens to view Assembly proceedings.
Joint Secretary Rita Mehta presented the official rulebook of the Gujarat Assembly to the visiting members and elucidated various aspects of House procedure and the Assembly's digital resources.
The Tripura delegation is in Gujarat from November 14-18, during which they will also explore key locations, including Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Narmada, Somnath, and Dwarka.
