While addressing an official event, the Chief Minister affirmed that his administration is dedicated to the welfare of both the citizens and the police force.
“Ensuring law and order is among the top priorities for our government. A state’s reputation is evaluated based on its law and order situation,” he remarked.
Saha, who is also responsible for the Home portfolio, indicated that new technologies would soon be deployed at district and state levels, enhancing law and order management through the installation of AI-based control rooms, drone technology, and smart CCTVs.
A new police headquarters is being constructed, and initiatives are underway to modernise the two major police stations in the state—East Agartala and West Agartala Police Stations.
“In my recent discussion with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he highlighted the renovation of aged police stations and residential facilities,” the Chief Minister added.
He acknowledged that the Tripura Police is a source of pride for the state, being one of the oldest forces in the nation, having celebrated its 150th anniversary last year, stating, “When individuals are in trouble and feel helpless, they turn to the police. Officers must operate with integrity and work to gain the public's trust.”
Saha mentioned that Tripura is currently on a trajectory of growth and development. He also noted that the Tripura Police and Tripura State Rifles (TSR) have conducted over 25,000 community service initiatives in the past three years, aiding more than half a million individuals.
The government has also enhanced ration allowances, dearness allowances, and uniform allowances.
