Agartala, Feb 24 (NationPress) Chief Minister Manik Saha of Tripura announced on Tuesday that the state administration is committed to ensuring transparent recruitment, ensuring that job opportunities are reserved for only the most capable and deserving individuals, reflecting the government's dedication to the populace.
During an event held at Pragya Bhavan, the Chief Minister handed out appointment letters to 52 individuals chosen for the Tripura Fisheries Service (TFS) Grade-I Fishery Officer positions. Saha emphasized that public welfare is the primary goal of every government initiative.
“Employment opportunities are now being offered in a completely transparent manner. Only those who demonstrate their abilities through education and skill are being hired. Recommendations are no longer necessary,” Saha stated.
Reflecting on previous obstacles, the Chief Minister acknowledged that job provision in remote areas used to be challenging due to terrorism and inadequate connectivity.
“The circumstances have improved considerably. The state now enjoys a tranquil and harmonious environment. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, significant focus has been placed on enhancing the development of the North-Eastern states, and connectivity in Tripura has seen remarkable improvements,” he noted.
Encouraging the newly appointed officers, Saha urged them to continually improve their skills and approach their work with dedication and empathy.
“Life should not be solely for oneself but also for others. Officials must display compassion towards individuals seeking assistance. With this mindset, constructing a new Tripura is certainly achievable,” he remarked.
The Chief Minister stated that in addition to government positions, the state is also prioritizing self-sufficiency across various sectors. To date, a total of 20,248 individuals have been granted government jobs in diverse departmental roles.
In terms of the fisheries sector, Saha noted that Tripura currently ranks second among the Northeastern states in fish production and should strive to attain the top position.
To foster self-sufficiency in fish farming, the government has launched several initiatives, including the restoration of neglected water bodies, excavation of new ponds, and the promotion of scientific fish farming methodologies.
Fisheries Minister Sudhanshu Das and Deepa D. Nair, Secretary of the Fisheries Department, were also present at the event.
