Agartala, Sep 26 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, announced on Friday that the BJP administration has successfully generated 20,036 government jobs, including those for die-in-harness cases, while ensuring transparency. He emphasized that efforts are ongoing to swiftly address the remaining vacancies across all departments.
During a ceremony at Pragya Bhavan where job offer letters were given for the positions of General Duty Medical Officer (GDMO) and Librarian, Saha highlighted the government's commitment to enhancing the doctor-patient ratio in Tripura. On this occasion, 214 GDMO offers were issued, comprising 142 men and 72 women.
As a dental surgeon himself, Saha remarked that doctors have a vital role in saving lives and that their respect is rooted in the quality of service they provide to the public. He urged medical professionals to honor their parents, who have been instrumental in their journeys to becoming doctors.
Moreover, the Chief Minister distributed offer letters to 12 selected candidates for the Librarian role within the Education Department, addressing the critical shortage of librarians in various state schools. He stated, “No school can function effectively without a librarian.”
He elaborated on the importance of libraries, emphasizing that they foster an environment conducive to learning, especially for students who might not have the means to purchase books. With the advent of e-libraries and digital libraries, the role of librarians has become even more significant, akin to that of teachers.
Saha reiterated that the respect afforded to doctors is contingent upon their commitment to serving the community effectively. He stated that a stethoscope is the true ornament of a doctor.
He also mentioned that measures are being undertaken to align the patient-doctor ratio with the standards set by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the World Health Organization, with plans for increased doctor appointments in the near future.
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including the Secretary of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Kiran Gitte, and the Director of the Department of Health, Tapan Majumder, amongst others.
