Agartala, May 21 (NationPress) Tripura's Chief Minister Manik Saha stated on Wednesday that the state administration is dedicated to providing employment to the youth through a system marked by transparency and strictly based on merit. He noted that since the BJP took office, over 19,000 jobs have been offered.
While delivering offer letters to 56 candidates across various roles within the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, the Chief Minister emphasized that the government ensures job opportunities are administered transparently, adhering to governmental protocols and established practices.
Since March 2018, a total of 19,262 individuals, including those benefiting from the die-in-harness program, have secured positions in diverse departments, he reported.
Highlighting the current administration's efforts to maintain a dynamic and transparent public distribution system (PDS), Saha mentioned that initiatives are underway to address numerous vacancies.
“Although the state government is actively providing positions to the youth, there remains a considerable amount of unfounded criticism from opposition parties. However, during the 35 years of Left party governance, job offers were often distributed from party headquarters. We have the courage to distribute offers publicly,” he stated.
Saha further asserted that the present government is consistently issuing offer letters across various departments, ensuring that no individual can claim to have obtained a job through connections or influence.
“This achievement is solely due to the candidates' own diligence and capabilities. We aim to ensure that government jobs are awarded to our youth based on merit and skill, adhering to a transparent and proper process. This commitment will guarantee quality work and contribute positively to public welfare,” he affirmed.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the government is actively working to boost farmers' incomes. “Paddy is being acquired from farmers at the Minimum Support Price.
Since 2018, approximately 2.25 lakh metric tonnes of paddy have been procured, amounting to nearly Rs 446 crore spent, which has been directly transferred to the bank accounts of beneficiary farmers,” he detailed.
Present at the event were Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumdar, along with other senior officials.
