Udhampur (J&K), Jan 15 (NationPress) The residents of Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir are experiencing a significant change in their lives due to the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, which has effectively eliminated the issues of power outages. They are now enjoying a reliable and continuous power supply for their homes and businesses.

Many beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the Modi government for this transformative initiative during their conversations with IANS.

In the Sailan Talab area of Udhampur, the lower and middle-class families have reported a remarkable improvement in their daily lives thanks to this scheme. Their electricity expenses have also drastically decreased.

Beneficiaries highlighted that the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana has significantly enhanced their quality of life.

Previously, residents faced frequent power cuts in Udhampur, but with the installation of solar panels, their electricity bills have plummeted. What once cost thousands has now been reduced to a fraction of that.

Several individuals noted that this newfound stability in power supply has allowed children to have extended study hours.

Solar panels have been installed at 30 different locations, with ongoing work at 60 sites. The scheme offers up to a 60 percent subsidy. Beneficiaries are encouraging their neighbors to take advantage of this initiative and install solar panels on their rooftops.

Kamla shared with IANS that her electricity bill used to reach Rs 4,000-5,000 monthly, but it has now fallen to around Rs 1,000.

“This is an excellent initiative by PM Modi. There’s also a subsidy for solar panel installations. In the past, power outages caused significant issues. Now, we have electricity around the clock,” she stated.

Nidhi Gupta mentioned that the solar panel installations are a huge relief.

Power cuts during summer were problematic for children, but under this program, we now have access to electricity 24/7.

Radhika added that her bill used to be Rs 5,000, but it has significantly decreased, enabling them to operate heavy appliances like air conditioners and coolers.
