Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, March 26 (NationPress) The security framework in Uttam Nagar has been notably enhanced today in preparation for the Ram Navami festivities, with local authorities mobilizing substantial police and paramilitary forces to uphold public order. A contingent of 650 police officers has been deployed throughout the locality, alongside 12 units of paramilitary forces, which includes personnel from the CRPF, ensuring a comprehensive security setup.
To effectively oversee the celebrations, 25 specialized pickets have been established at key and sensitive areas such as Uttam Nagar Thana Road, Kalai Basti, Kabristan/Eidgah Road, and Balmiki Mandir Chowk. Collaborative teams from the Uttam Nagar, Dabri, and Bindapur police stations are positioned at critical intersections and narrow streets to avert any overcrowding or unexpected incidents.
Moreover, the Dwarka District Operations Cell has activated undercover teams in civilian attire to monitor the environment. These teams focus on gathering real-time intelligence and identifying any dubious activities, ensuring prompt preventive actions when necessary.
The increase in security comes after the recent Tarun murder case, where a youth was tragically killed during a dispute on Holi.
While there have been no reported disturbances since Eid, officials indicated that this extensive deployment is intended to preempt any potential tensions. To date, 14 arrests have been made related to the case, and continuous patrols are being conducted in the vicinity.
Authorities have emphasized that strict measures will be enforced against any actions that may threaten the peace during the festivities. Senior police officials have affirmed that preserving communal harmony and ensuring resident safety remains the utmost priority.
