New Delhi, Feb 21 (NationPress) Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan is set to embark on a visit to Tamil Nadu tomorrow to participate in the foundation stone laying ceremony for the statue of V.O. Chidambaram Pillai at Vandiyur in Madurai, as confirmed by an official on Saturday.
During his visit, the Vice-President will also stop by the Thirukoshtiyur Sowmya Narayana Perumal Temple and the Rani Velu Nachiyar Palace located in Sivaganga, according to a statement issued by the official.
Earlier, on the occasion of International Mother Language Day on Saturday, Vice-President Radhakrishnan introduced updated editions of the Constitution of India in Tamil and Gujarati, along with the eighth edition of the Legal Glossary (English–Hindi).
He characterized Tamil as one of the world's most ancient classical languages, rich in literary tradition, while describing Gujarati as a language filled with cultural and philosophical significance. He emphasized that this initiative aims to make the Constitution more accessible to the public in their native languages, thereby enhancing democratic engagement and awareness.
The Vice-President commended the Ministry of Law and Justice for their extensive efforts in producing these translations, which aim to facilitate better access to the Constitution for citizens nationwide, as stated on social media.
In another event related to the National CSR Summit 2026 held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Radhakrishnan stressed that collaboration among institutions is essential for societal and national advancement, emphasizing that such partnerships are vital during this transformative phase in India’s development journey.
He highlighted India's remarkable growth over the past decade under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, noting that the nation has ascended from being the 10th largest economy to the 4th largest globally and is on track to become the 3rd largest.
He pointed out that structural reforms, inclusive growth, digital connectivity, financial inclusion, and infrastructure enhancements have lifted over 25 crore citizens out of extreme poverty, inspiring aspirations across different regions and communities.
Radhakrishnan remarked that the upcoming phase of development requires stronger partnerships among government, industry, and civil society.
He articulated that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has transitioned from a peripheral concern to a central element of national advancement, describing it as the convergence of enterprise and empathy, where financial outcomes meet human stories, and growth gains a meaningful purpose.
