Chennai, Aug 18 (NationPress) The president of the Tamil Nadu BJP, K. Nainar Nagenthran, has made an appeal to Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, who also leads the DMK, to provide unwavering support for C.P. Radhakrishnan, the Vice-Presidential candidate from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Nagenthran emphasized that this nomination is a significant source of pride for Tamil Nadu.
Nagenthran highlighted that Radhakrishnan, a prominent Tamil leader and the current Governor of Maharashtra, is being promoted by the NDA for this esteemed constitutional role.
“This is a remarkable moment for our state, as one of our own is in the running for the Vice Presidency of India. Political differences should not hinder the celebration of this significant recognition for Tamil Nadu,” he stated.
The BJP leader urged all political factions, including those within the INDIA coalition, to put aside their differences and offer their support for Radhakrishnan.
He reminisced about how Odisha's Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik, had encouraged his party members to vote for Draupadi Murmu, the NDA’s presidential candidate from Odisha, despite political divides in 2022.
“Patnaik exemplified generosity and state pride. I am confident that Chief Minister Stalin will do likewise by backing C.P. Radhakrishnan,” Nagenthran asserted.
He emphasized that Radhakrishnan's nomination signifies not just a political shift but also a validation of Tamil Nadu’s senior political figures on a national platform.
“This is a recognition of Tamil Nadu’s influence in national politics. Such opportunities are rare and should be embraced in unity,” he added.
Addressing Stalin directly, the BJP president said, “On behalf of the Tamil Nadu BJP, I urge our esteemed Chief Minister to wholeheartedly support our brother and son of Tamil Nadu, C.P. Radhakrishnan. This gesture will resonate strongly as a message of state pride, transcending party affiliations.”
Nagenthran concluded by saying that bipartisan backing for Radhakrishnan would amplify Tamil Nadu’s representation in national politics and elevate its standing.
“I once more appeal to Chief Minister Stalin to ensure that Tamil Nadu comes together in endorsing this historic nomination,” he remarked.
