Wickramaratne chairs SLC interim committee; Sangakkara, Mahanama in
Former Member of Parliament and investment banker Eran Wickramaratne has been named chairman of Sri Lanka Cricket's (SLC) interim committee, set up to govern the sport's national body following the mass resignation of president Shammi Silva and his entire executive committee on Wednesday, 29 April 2025, in Colombo. The committee was constituted by Sports Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage and includes two of the country's most celebrated former captains.
Who Is on the Interim Committee
Alongside Wickramaratne, the committee features former national captains Roshan Mahanama and Kumar Sangakkara, as well as ex-opener Sidath Wettimuny. Administrators Thushira Radella, Avanti Colombage, Prakash Schaffter, and Upul Kumarapperuma have also been included. The appointments represent a sweeping overhaul at Maitland Place, the headquarters of SLC.
