The victim, identified as Dhruv Prasad, had returned home from Punjab just two days earlier.
Following a thorough investigation, Gopalganj police apprehended Kiran Devi, Dhruv's wife, along with her brother-in-law, Vikesh Kumar. Both have admitted their roles in the heinous act during police questioning.
According to Ramu Prasad, the victim's father, his son Dhruv came back on May 21, and on the night of May 24, he was allegedly attacked in his sleep. The accused used a sword to cut Dhruv's throat.
The father reported that Kiran Devi had been involved in an illicit relationship with Vikesh Kumar for nearly two years.
