Patna, April 3 (NationPress) Bihar's Leader of the Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav, stated on Thursday that certain secular parties have been revealed in the Lower House of Parliament due to their support for the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, asserting that the electorate will hold these parties accountable in the forthcoming state elections.
“The RJD has firmly opposed the Bill in both Houses of Parliament. Yet, some parties that proclaim to be secular have now been unmasked. We have been opposing this Bill since the outset. The voters of Bihar will teach them a lesson in the upcoming Assembly elections,” Yadav remarked.
He also launched a fierce critique against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, accusing his administration of releasing criminals from incarceration and rewarding corrupt officials with prestigious positions throughout his 20-year rule.
“The Nitish Kumar government is enacting laws that favor criminals released from prisons,” he stated, referencing the Anant Singh case.
Additionally, he mentioned that these criminals are receiving special treatment at the Chief Minister’s residence.
He further condemned the Nitish Kumar government for elevating bureaucrats who consistently err rather than holding them accountable.
“Nitish Kumar has imposed the DK Tax in Bihar,” he noted, although he refrained from elaborating on its implications.
Tejashwi Yadav asserted that JD-U is now split into two factions—one allied with BJP and another that remains secular.
“I urge the secular faction of JD-U to clearly define their political position,” he stated.
Regarding Lalu Prasad Yadav's health, Tejashwi conveyed that his condition is improving. “He is currently hospitalized at Delhi AIIMS, under the care of expert physicians and is recovering well. He has the blessings of millions of people,” Yadav concluded.
