Amaravati, July 1 (NationPress) YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) President and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, urged the party's youth members on Tuesday to leverage social media significantly to expose the anti-people policies of the coalition government led by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
During his address to the party's youth wing, Reddy emphasized that YSRCP was established on the foundation of credibility and values intertwined with a fighting spirit that withstands all political challenges. He expressed that this is the moment for the youth to step up as future leaders by recruiting influencers into the party and fortifying its structure.
Reflecting on the party's beginnings, he noted that both he and his mother were the initial elected representatives. He recounted how 18 MLAs from other parties were prompted to leave their political affiliations when YSRCP was formed.
“We achieved remarkable success in our fight against Congress and TDP. In the by-elections, I secured victory with the highest margin, attracting national attention, which became a concern for many,” he stated.
Reddy also mentioned how TDP had lured 23 out of 67 MLAs post-2014 elections and how YSRCP endured political pressures to become the voice of the populace, questioning the state government on behalf of the citizens.
He encouraged the youth to embody this spirit, asserting that their dedication now would pave the way for future success. He urged them to spotlight the failures of the state government and engage with the people to achieve desired outcomes.
He called for an intensified effort in utilizing social media while also reaching out to the community.
“Illuminate the government’s wrongdoings through social media and bring them to the public’s attention, focusing on the failures and injustices of the coalition,” he instructed.
“Stand with the people and be accessible when they require our support. The youth possess a promising future in the party, and it is up to you to decide how you will represent yourselves. You must enhance the party’s organization and evaluate your progress regularly,” he added.
The YSRCP Chief announced plans to designate zone-wise working presidents for the youth wing, which will include prospective MLA candidates.
