Airtel's Dedication to India's Digital Advancement in a Changing Telecom Environment

New Delhi, Dec 24 (NationPress) Bharti Airtel announced on Tuesday that it achieved the highest net wireless subscriber growth in October, with an addition of 1.93 million mobile subscribers for the month, demonstrating consistent progress in a transforming telecom sector.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to fostering India's digital progress and delivering strong connectivity solutions.

According to the latest data from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), the telecom provider added 1,928,263 wireless users in October, marking a noteworthy achievement.

Conversely, Reliance Jio and Vodafone Idea experienced subscriber declines of 3.76 million and 1.98 million, respectively.

The state-run BSNL added 501,224 users, while MTNL encountered a slight drop of 2,273 users in October.

The overall wireless user base in India saw a minor reduction of 0.29 percent, decreasing from 1,153.72 million in September to 1,150.42 million in October, based on TRAI data.

In terms of machine-to-machine (M2M) connections, Airtel leads the market with a share of 51.82 percent, boasting 29.08 million connections, followed by Vodafone Idea and Reliance Jio.

Regarding visitor location register (VLR) performance, Airtel achieved an impressive 99.48 percent active subscriber rate, the highest among telecom providers, highlighting its network reliability and quality.

“Airtel remains dedicated to providing a top-notch network experience and innovative services that address the changing needs of customers,” stated the company.

Earlier this month, Bharti Airtel revealed that it had flagged 8 billion spam calls and 800 million spam SMS within just two and a half months of launching its AI-driven spam detection solution. The AI system has successfully identified nearly 1 million spammers daily, according to the company's statement.

The telecom regulator instructed operators to eliminate spam calls and messages while adhering to its guidelines concerning the whitelisting of URLs, APKs, and OTT links. In response, Airtel launched its AI-powered spam detection solution in September, which alerts customers in real-time about potential spam calls and SMS.
