Rohtak, Oct 3 (NationPress) Emphasizing the importance of enhancing the dairy industry due to its significant impact on the rural economy, Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Sabar Dairy Plant located at the Industrial Model Township (IMT) here, which was constructed at an investment of Rs 325 crore.

This dairy facility is recognized as the nation's largest production site for curd, buttermilk, and yoghurt, boasting a daily output capacity of 150 metric tonnes of curd, three lakh litres of buttermilk, 10 lakh litres of yoghurt, and 10 metric tonnes of sweets.

During the inauguration, which aims to serve the National Capital Region and adjacent northern states, HM Shah stated, "The dairy sector is a robust source of nutrition. Not only does it bolster the rural economy, but it also enhances farmers' prosperity."

Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for addressing the long-standing demand for a dedicated Ministry of Cooperation, HM Shah, who also oversees this portfolio, remarked, "This is the very land where Lord Krishna first imparted the profound wisdom of the Bhagwat Gita, teaching the world how individuals can connect with the divine without retreating from reality."

"I pay tribute to the maternal spirit of Haryana, as it is remarkable that despite its small size, the state contributes the largest number of personnel to our paramilitary and armed forces. The courageous sons of Haryana are safeguarding our borders."

The Sabar Dairy Plant features cutting-edge machinery and is projected to create both direct and indirect job opportunities for nearly 1,000 individuals.

Headquartered in Gujarat, the Sabarkantha District Cooperative Milk Producers' Union operates as Sabar Dairy.

HM Shah mentioned that the plant's current capacity will be expanded to match its full potential by next year.

"This facility will play a vital role in enriching the livelihoods of farmers throughout the NCR and northern India. Sabar Dairy currently supports farmers in Rajasthan, Haryana, Maharashtra, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar, and it will soon extend its reach across every region of Haryana, significantly boosting farmers' incomes."

Following the dairy plant's inauguration, HM Shah is scheduled to distribute tool kits to 2,200 artisans during the Khadi Karigar Mahotsav at Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak.

He will also provide modern machinery and toolkits, along with Rs 301 crore allocated as margin money under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP).

Additionally, he will inaugurate PMEGP units and the Khadi Gramodyog Bhavan, followed by addressing a public gathering at the venue.

Later, the Union Home Minister will launch a five-day exhibition in Kurukshetra, showcasing three new criminal laws. This exhibition will highlight the updates and achievements introduced by the new legislation, along with the roles of seven different departments, organized into 10 thematic sections.

HM Shah will also inaugurate and lay the foundation for development projects valued at approximately Rs 825 crore in Kurukshetra.
