Rohtak, Oct 3 (NationPress) Emphasizing the importance of bolstering the dairy sector for its vital contribution to the rural economy, Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Sabar Dairy Plant located in the Industrial Model Township (IMT), built at an investment of Rs 325 crore.

This plant is recognized as the largest production facility in the nation for curd, buttermilk, and yogurt, boasting a daily production capacity of 150 metric tonnes of curd, 300,000 litres of buttermilk, 1 million litres of yogurt, and 10 metric tonnes of sweets.

During the inauguration, intended to serve the National Capital Region and northern states, HM Shah stated, "The dairy sector serves as a robust source of nutrition. In addition to uplifting the rural economy, it will enhance the prosperity of farmers."

Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for addressing the long-standing request for a distinct Ministry of Cooperation, HM Shah, who oversees the cooperation portfolio, remarked, "This is the same land where Lord Krishna first shared the wisdom of the Bhagwat Gita, imparting knowledge that enables a person to connect with God without any form of escapism."

"I pay homage to the nurturing spirit of Haryana, for despite its modest size, it contributes the largest number of individuals to our paramilitary and armed forces. The courageous sons of this state are defending our nation at the borders," he added.

The Sabar Dairy Plant is equipped with cutting-edge machinery and is anticipated to create direct and indirect employment opportunities for nearly 1,000 individuals.

Headquartered in Gujarat, the Sabarkantha District Cooperative Milk Producers' Union operates under the name Sabar Dairy.

HM Shah revealed that the plant's current capacity is set to double by next year.

"This facility will bolster the prosperity of farmers throughout the NCR and northern India. Currently, Sabar Dairy supports farmers in Rajasthan, Haryana, Maharashtra, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar, and it will now extend its services across every corner of Haryana, significantly boosting farmers' incomes," he stated.

Following the dairy plant inauguration, HM Shah will distribute tool kits to 2,200 artisans during the Khadi Karigar Mahotsav at Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak.

He will also provide modern machinery and toolkits, alongside Rs 301 crore allocated as margin money under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP).

Additionally, he will inaugurate PMEGP units and the Khadi Gramodyog Bhavan and address a public gathering at the event.

Later, the Union Home Minister will unveil a five-day exhibition in Kurukshetra focused on three new criminal laws. This exhibition will display the transformations and progress brought about by the new legislation, highlighting the contributions of seven distinct departments across ten thematic sections.

HM Shah will also lay the foundation stone for various development projects valued at approximately Rs 825 crore in Kurukshetra.
