Apple logs record India revenue in June quarter, Mac leads surge
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Apple posted record revenue in India during the June quarter of 2025, with the Mac segment emerging as the standout performer — driven by strong MacBook Neo adoption and sustained demand for the iPhone 17 series, even as iPhone supply remained constrained in the country. Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed the milestone, noting that the company achieved June-quarter revenue records across every geographic segment globally.
Global Results at a Glance
Apple reported quarterly revenue of $109.4 billion, up 16 per cent year over year. Company gross margin stood at 50.1 per cent, including a favourable impact of approximately 2 percentage points from tariff refunds. Diluted earnings per share came in at $2.02, up 29 per cent year over year, with a $0.11 favourable impact from tariff refunds.
'We achieved June quarter revenue records in every geographic segment. We were pleased to see strength across the board with June quarter records in the U.S., Latin America, Western Europe, India, China Mainland, Japan, and Southeast Asia,' Cook said.
Mac's Best Quarter — India Included
Globally, Mac revenue reached $10.4 billion, up 29 per cent year over year, marking a new June quarter record driven by the strength of the MacBook Neo and MacBook Pro. Apple CFO Kevan Parekh highlighted India's role in this performance: 'Mac had its best quarter ever for customers new to the Mac and for upgraders worldwide, including in the U.S., China Mainland, and India.'
This comes amid rising consumer appetite for premium computing devices in India, where Apple has steadily expanded its retail and online presence over the past two years.
Supply Constraints and Forex Headwinds
Cook acknowledged that the results were delivered despite 'very significant constraints' in the supply chain and forex headwinds — a notable qualifier given that iPhone supply specifically remained constrained in India during the quarter. That Apple still posted a record underscores the resilience of its India demand curve.
Industry View: Apple Outpacing Android Rivals
According to Tarun Pathak, Director at Counterpoint Research, Apple has kept pricing largely stable in India, reflecting its ability to navigate rising memory costs — a pressure that is forcing price increases across the Android ecosystem. 'We expect single-digit volume but double-digit value growth in India during CY 2026, and view an iPhone price hike as highly likely. Even so, the brand's aspirational pull should keep bringing new users into the ecosystem — a halo effect now visible across adjacent categories, with Mac shining brightest this quarter,' Pathak said.
Pathak also noted that Apple is expected to outperform the industry across its key hardware categories, driven by the strength of its installed base and the initial positive reception of Siri AI. 'OEMs face a difficult choice between protecting margins and protecting volumes, and the market will feel that pressure. Apple has so far avoided that trade-off,' he added.
What to Watch Next
With a potential iPhone price hike flagged for CY 2026 and Mac momentum building, Apple's India growth story is entering a new phase. Whether constrained iPhone supply eases — and how the market absorbs any price revision — will be the key variables shaping Apple's India trajectory in the quarters ahead.
