New Delhi, Feb 1 (NationPress) Experts from the industry expressed their approval of the Union Budget 2026 on Sunday, deeming it forward-thinking, well-balanced, and in harmony with India's long-term developmental objectives.
In an interview with IANS, Vipin Vohra, Chairman of Continental Carriers Private Limited, mentioned that the budget is extremely favorable for the logistics industry.
He stated, “The government has placed a significant focus on logistics as India's exports continue to rise.”
Vohra emphasized that a key highlight for the sector is the allocation of Rs 10,000 crore for container manufacturing, which he believes will fortify India's logistics framework and enhance export capabilities.
“This is a very progressive budget for the logistics sector, with numerous positive announcements,” Vohra added.
“The foremost aspect is the Rs 10,000 crore allocation for container manufacturing,” he noted.
Offering his insights, Abani Kant Jha, Group Chief Financial Officer of Saatvik, acknowledged that although the budget didn't entirely meet the aspirations of his sector, it still provided some relief.
He highlighted that the government has prolonged the basic customs duty exemption on materials utilized in the production of glass and lithium batteries.
Nevertheless, Jha remarked that the industry anticipated inclusion under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, which was absent in this budget.
On another note, Saurabh Sanyal, Secretary General of Assocham, characterized the Union Budget 2026 as a remarkably balanced budget.
He asserted that the proposals put forth by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman offer a clear push towards the vision of Viksit Bharat, while ensuring overall economic stability.
“The budget presented today by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is truly a balanced budget that supports Viksit Bharat,” Sanyal declared.
